Every recipe in this book can be presented so well that it looks like it needs to go on Instagram and every photo in this book proves it.
Fortunately, there’s plenty of substance to this intelligent, witty exploration of the meal of breakfast and all the gorgeous recipes that you can use to make it with.
Sarabeth is the owner of a bakery in New York and her restaurant is famous for its incredible brunches, so it’s no surprise that in her second cookbook, she turns to breakfast.
She has all the old favorites in here but where the book truly shines is with her own creations that really will knock your socks off first thing in the morning.
If you want to eat breakfast in their restaurant, you may need to queue for an hour or more but you can always create Doug and Ryan’s recipes at home with this great cookbook.
We particularly like their tips for prepping breakfast the night before so that when you get out of bed, it’s super easy to get the meal made before work.
This didn’t make our top vegetarian cookbooks list but only because we didn’t want to pack it out with vegan choices, this is still a superlative breakfast cookbook even if you do still eat meat.
We also like the emphasis here on creating meals from scratch rather than using the prepackaged (and often heavily reliant on additives) vegan foods that many rely on.
There’s a good argument that says this book belongs on our top cookbooks of all time list and it only narrowly missed out on a slot.
With over 400 breakfast recipes from every corner of the globe, Emily Elyse Miller has truly captured the essence of breakfast.
For the authors, brunch is a serious business, literally as it’s what their food truck and restaurant in Toronto are famous for.
We like the fact that they combine the recipes with a travelogue explaining how they encountered each item and how they took it to the next level.
Oatmeal is super healthy and takes almost no time to prepare and as Christina Tosch knows, it takes very little effort to make it interesting too.
Not every recipe here is for breakfast but most of them are and we think everyone associates oatmeal with the first meal of the day.
This book is a reflection for Jerryk’s love of breakfasts from around the world and he takes a fun approach to cooking them all.
We liked the chapter on muffin tin breakfasts where every recipe can be made in a muffin tin!
