A Bright Cellars review was a great opportunity to enjoy some great new wines! We hope you enjoy the club as much as we did. And we certainly understand the kudos they’re receiving.
Bright Cellars was definitely on to something when investors threw nearly $10 million at them in a first round of venture capital funding.
They secured another $8.5 million in 2019 so they are getting it right! [source: Tech Crunch]
So, what does Bright Cellars offer you that current subscription wine boxes don’t? What’s the buzz all about?
Let’s take a look, shall we?
Before you get your first Bright Cellars subscription box you need to fill in a brief questionnaire about your tastes.
This enables the company’s algorithm (the clever MIT grads who founded the company do the math, so you don’t have to) to select a group of wines to match your palate.
Then once you receive your wine box, you need to rate the wines that you receive and over time, this allows that very same algorithm to get better and better at predicting the kind of wines that you like.
That means you’re always going to receive a selection that you enjoy, at least in the long run.
Science guarantees it!
The Bright Cellars box includes 4 bottles of wine at $80 for the month. That’s $20 a bottle.
In our experience this is roughly the shelf price of each bottle, you’re not going to save much more than $10 for buying the box but you are getting the personalized recommendations.
However, that does add up to a 12.5% Discount (or thereabouts – the savings vary each month) and that represents decent value for money.
Bright Cellars has confidence in its algorithm and is prepared to back this with a guarantee for its subscribers. The algorithm analyses 18 “Bright Points” and uses these to select your wine box.
If, however, for any reason you get a bottle of wine that you just don’t love – then the wine club will offer a replacement for it with your next subscription box.
That’s a great way to give customers the confidence to buy knowing they’ll only be paying for the products they love from the Bright Cellars Wine Club.
One of the things that we really love about the Bright Cellars subscription box is that this isn’t running through a bunch of commonly served wine options.
In fact, to the contrary they hunt out unique vintages from small producers around the world. We’ve amassed a wonderful small collection of we keep in our wine cooler.
You’re basically buying into a club of exclusive consumers and that’s really nice to know.
The only thing we don’t like about Bright Cellars is that by trying to ensure they always deliver something you like based on past experience they may occasionally miss something that you would have loved but wasn’t predicted by the algorithm.
That’s not the end of the world, mind you.
If you want to get a deeper and better understanding of wine plus get great value for money then Bright Cellars is for you.
You’re almost guaranteed to like every bottle of wine they ship to your door. Because, science.
