It wouldn’t be Kitchen Authority if we didn’t search out the best sandwich makers in the land each month and once again my family was delighted to be able to test out the proceeds of all the kitchen work.
The Bulbhead Red Copper Flipwich Non-Stick Sandwich Maker is definitely one of the nicer stovetop sandwich makers that I’ve seen.
The packaging and presentation are very professional and it looks somewhat more elegant than other similar sandwich makers.
But how does it measure up when it comes to making sandwiches?
A New Idea For Toasted Sandwiches
I like to make sure that each time we have a look at a sandwich maker, we also come up with a new idea for a sandwich to make. Today, I’ve turned to Greg’s Kitchen for a Ham, Cheese, Tomato Butter and Onion sandwich which tastes incredible. Check it out here:
How Did The Bulbhead Do?
This is a stovetop sandwich maker and the slightly larger compartment for bread gives you more flexibility than the automatic electric sandwich makers do. The downside, however, is that you can only make one sandwich at a time.
This is a bit of a constraint in my home where four people fight it out over the first sandwiches to come off the stove. However, it does mean that meal times last a bit longer and the family gets a chance to talk while they wait. I think the Bulbhead is probably better in a smaller home though.
It did make excellent sandwiches though and combined with the nice look of the product; it’s my favorite stovetop sandwich maker to date.
