We are two days away from the New Year and I am betting that most of America will need a cup of coffee on the morning of the 1st, even if they don’t normally drink it, recovering from parties is often thirsty work.
So, I am glad that we have the Betty Crocker coffee maker to review today. This is a sleek back unit which makes up to 12 cups of coffee at a time, so you’re not going to find yourself short of a cup during the course of a day. But was it any good? Let’s find out.
Who Was Betty Crocker?
Betty Crocker’s name is synonymous with food and drink in America. But who was she? Well… it turns out that she wasn’t anybody; she’s the figment of a marketing department’s imagination. Find out the whole story from Great Big Story’s awesome video on The Life and Lies of Betty Crocker.
Interesting, right? I loved this video.
So, Betty Crocker’s Coffee Maker?
This is a budget coffee maker but I was pleased to find that it didn’t feel like they’d cut any corners with the design. The glass is perfectly thick enough to not worry about it cracking during use and the plastic is solid and wipes clean easily.
The coffee it makes is perfectly fine too. There’s no included grinder, mind you but this is a sub-$20 coffee maker; what do you expect for that price? Well, I expect decent coffee and that’s what I got – so we’re going to recommend this happily.
