I am back to checking out the best value starter cookware sets in the land and today, I am going with something with some classic, retro appeal.
Have you noticed how everything you use in the kitchen ends up looking the same at the moment? It all has a sort of black enamel and silver flash kind of appeal.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that, per se, but sometimes I hanker for the look and feel of my mom’s kitchen and that means stainless steel.
The Downside Of Stainless Steel
Before we get on to how much I like this set, I am going to draw your attention to the downsides of stainless steel. Namely, the handles get hot and you need to use oven mitts or a tea towel in order to grip them and they are no fun to clean.
Stainless steel smears a bit unless you get the soap mix in water just right.
The good news is that this kit has the first problem beaten. The handles are riveted and designed to stay cool rather than a continuous piece which gets hot.
Cleaning isn’t ideal but I found that wiping with paper rather than a towel got my set sparkly clean. You can also just pop them in the dishwasher.
They look so good! I felt like I was running a professional kitchen with the Cook N Home 12-Piece Stainless Steel Cookware Set. This was Egon Ronay style in my own home and I liked it, a lot.
I was also impressed by the fact that they’re oven proofed and thus all of the pans can be dual purposed. Oddly, you get 1 saucepan, 3 casseroles, 1 stock pot and a frying pan which is a strange mix but they’re all great.
If you’d like to pick the Cook N Home 12-Piece Stainless Steel Cookware Set up on Amazon, it’s just under $45 at the moment which is a great value.
