I love cooking but there’s something else that I love almost as much. Any ideas what it is? OK, that’s not fair. So, let me tell you. I love bargains. I love finding something that’s such extraordinary value for money that you can’t believe it.
This Sunbeam 7-Piece Cookware Set is just such a bargain. I am absolutely awestruck by the low retail price for this beginner’s cookware set. It’s the perfect start to a new home or for your first time in college.
The Basics Are Covered
You can cook pretty much anything with this set. There’s a Dutch Oven for stews and casseroles. A 2 quart and a 1.5-quart saucepan for sauces and veggies and a frying pan because let’s face it, we all need to fry at some point or another.
Yup, frying an egg takes a bit of mastery and I was pleased to see that you could fry an egg in the Sunbeam frying pan – I was pretty nervous that something so cheap wouldn’t handle even basic tasks and I was pleasantly surprised to find that it did just fine.
The Bad News
These pans are pretty cheap and it shows in the finish. They won’t stay looking shiny for very long but that doesn’t matter because you use them for cooking and not for showing off.
They’re also a bit slow to warm in the first instance but not so much that it’s going to ruin your kitchen time.
I don’t imagine that they’d last much more than a year or two but at less than $20? It’s not the end of the world. The Sunbeam 7-Piece Cookware Set is fantastic for what it is.
