The Cuisinart Combo Steam and Convection Oven – the Cuisinart CSO-300N1 – is a superb value item which delivers great results.
If you’re looking for an unusual purchase which delivers great results in the kitchen then you need to look closely at the Cuisinart CSO-300N1 Steam and Convection Oven.
It’s everything that you always wanted from a professional steam oven, but it fits neatly in the space you have at home.
Why Do You Need A Combo Steam And Convection Oven?
So, here’s why you need to think about buying one of these Cuisinart Ovens for your home:
It sounds like a throwback to the 19th Century, doesn’t it? The Cuisinart CSO-300N1 Steam and Convection Oven isn’t steam powered, however, what it does is use steam to reduce the length of time that you need to cook the food for.
This has two benefits, the first is that it gets your cooking time down and that means it’s easier to get a hot meal on the table at the end of a busy day. Working moms aren’t always blessed with endless amounts of time – a steam oven can help with that.
Second, and equally important, it’s going to save you money by reducing your energy bill. And yes, that also means it’s an eco-friendly(ish) device compared to a standard convection oven.
What We Like About The Cuisinart CSO-300N1 Steam and Convection Oven
The first thing we liked about this device when we took it out of the box was just how modern and cool it looks.
The Cuisinart CSO-300N1 Steam & Convection Oven is a very attractive item and that made it a joy to position in our kitchen.
We were also impressed by the size of it.
It may look like a fairly small convection oven but in practice you can easily put a whole large chicken inside or cook a 12” pizza. That’s pretty awesome for a counter-top device and it may be a good reason to choose it for a tiny kitchen or tiny home.
There is a practical limit on how much steam can be generated in the oven (this is down to the size of the reservoir which can be removed easily and refilled).
So, you can only run this oven for 120 minutes at a time but given that this includes a 40% reduction in cooking time; we wonder how many people are going to need more than 3 hours constant cooking from a small device like this?
It also includes something called “specialized bread proofing technology” which Cuisinart say makes it easier and faster to bake bread.
We tested this and can confirm it is a bit faster but we’re not sure whether that’s the steam function or the bread proofing technology at work.
It functions as a toaster oven, a broiler and a standard convection oven without the steam and that gives it even more functionality.
In fact, this is what makes it one of the best possible picks if you’re short on space and want an oven on the counter.
We’ve only had our Cuisinart CSO-300N1 Steam & Convection Oven for a short while and had no issues with it but some Amazon customers have complained that the supplied racks and plates show signs of rust after long-term use.
We’d advise purchasing it through Amazon or another retailer with a warranty to hedge against this happening to you.
Final Thoughts on the Cuisinart Combo Steam & Convection Oven
This is a great oven.
It looks good. Works brilliantly and it saves you time and money. It costs only a little more than a standard convection oven too and that means it practically pays for itself.
