Fried Grasshoppers, The Food Of The Future?

They say that one day we will all be eating insects because they’re abundant, high in protein and easy to prepare. I remain thoroughly unconvinced if I’m honest.

However, I have been to Thailand and I’ve tried fried grasshoppers before.

So, here’s how you can cook them:

  1. I agree with you, not a fan of insects per se. However I grew up in Zimbabwe and when I was young had fried Mopani worms. They had a nutty flavor. But I refused to eat anything small with legs after that. 🙂

  2. Honestly, I don’t see how this is any more “gross” than eating shellfish. It’s mostly a matter of what you get used to eating when you’re growing up.
