Yay! This is the first sandwich maker that I’ve reviewed this month but it certainly won’t be the last. If you’ve followed Kitchen Authority from the start then you’ll know that my family and I absolutely love toasted sandwiches!
So, how does the Gelinzon Double Coated Copper Sandwich Maker handle our toasted sandwiches and why do I rate it as one of the best sandwich makers around?
Stove Top Flexibility
I love the little Breville style sandwich makers because they’re so neat but the trouble with them all is that they’re really only designed for sliced bread. You can’t do much about that but with the Gelinzon, you’re going stove top and you can afford a little overlap with the bread and device.
So, you can make awesome toasties like this one much more easily:
What Else Do I Like?
The other thing I really like about this sandwich maker is the way that it looks. That whole copper sheen of things has a real aura of class and traditional kitchens. The sandwich maker may be a relatively modern invention, but this would have looked cool in a Victorian kitchen as well as today’s kitchen.
The lack of moving parts is also a plus as this sandwich toaster ought to last pretty much a lifetime which is always nice. However, as with all stovetop sandwich makers… you can only make one sandwich at a time which can be frustrating at family meal times.
