If you’ve been following Kitchen Authority, then you’ll already know that I am very partial to a smoothie. There’s nothing better than the sweet taste of blended fruit or the sharp tang of blended vegetables.
However, I am conscious that for some of my readers that the cost of blenders is too much to get them started on smoothies. They want the health benefits, but they just struggle to afford a decent blender. So I was very excited when I came across the Hamilton Beach Smoothie Blender because, at under $20, it’s very reasonably priced.
Watch One In Action
I always think it’s nice to see a product in action and fortunately, Hamilton Beach, provides a ton of educational videos on YouTube so here’s the video of one of their smoothie blenders in action:
Yes, they could probably work on their video production quality (and that awful music) but it does show what this blender is good for and how it works, and that smoothie does look good, right?
What I Think
OK, it’s a sub-$20 blender. This isn’t going to last forever and it feels a little more fragile to touch than some of the more expensive models. However, it didn’t have any problems doing what it’s supposed to do and that is creating great tasting smoothies.
A blueberry and banana honey oatmeal smoothie came out to perfection on my trial run and I’ve played with it a couple of times since and had no issues with anything else.
It’s also pretty easy to clean and I didn’t feel like they’d cut any corners on safety, either. Overall, it’s not my favorite blender in the world but it is incredible for that price tag. If you want to give smoothies a whirl. This is the way forward.
