Anthony Bourdain is considered to be one of the finest chefs that ever lived. Sadly, however, he also had a troubled personal life and recently, in a bout of depression, Anthony committed suicide. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
The book Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain is his life story in food. It’s funny, witty and breathtaking and it’s an absolute classic of the food world. It’s fair to say, it’s one of my favorite books of all time.
Anthony Bourdain’s last project before his untimely passing was in the Philippines. It’s a wonderful country with a great people and it was their attitude to food that really caught his attention and helped him bond with the nation. Check him out here:
I love Filipino food even if it sometimes gets an unfair rap as “boring”. All I can say is that people need to try a little more next time they visit South East Asia, it’s so tasty!
It’s no secret. I am an unabashed fan of this book and have read it and re-read it so many times that I can’t pour enough superlatives on. If you don’t own it, you should buy it today and devour it like the last cookie on the tray.
