What were you doing at the age of 7? If you were anything like us, you were probably running around outside and doing not much of anything at school.
That’s not what Omari McQueen was doing.
His mother suffered from hemiplegic migraines and that meant somebody had to learn to cook for her. Omari stepped up to the plate.
Omari’s A Vegan
One day, soon after he had learned to cook – Omari found out about veganism on the PETA website.
He had already decided he would become a chef, now, he knew that he would become a vegan chef.
Unlike most 7 year-olds, Omari wasn’t going to wait.
At 8 he made himself a YouTube channel where he filmed himself making his first ever vegan pizza.
Omari’s A CEO
Then because he’s a precocious lad, Omari launched his company Dipalicious at the age of 8.
It sells vegan dips, snacks and other similar products.
The money he earns goes towards paying for a bus to turn into a restaurant so that he can cook vegan meals for other children!
He’s A Hero
Omari’s story is so powerful that he’s a “TruLittle Hero” that is he won the award for being the best entrepreneur under the age of 12 in 2018.
He also won the Compassionate Kids award for his contributions to animal welfare and the Proud and Gifted award for his skills as a vegan chef and public speaker.
Now, There’s A Cookbook
Not one to rest on his own laurels, Omari’s journey continues and there’s a cookbook –“Omari McQueen’s Best Bites”.
It contains 35 plant-based recipes that are so easy to make that even a child can make them and on this, Omari’s possibly the world’s number one expert.
You can find Omari McQueen’s Best Bites Cookbook online.
