Is there a more divisive fruit in the modern world than the avocado?
It was just hanging around in the background, doing nothing harmful and then it found itself the object of derision thanks to Millennial brunches.
“Can’t afford a house can eat avocado toast!”
(Cue outrage from old fogeys).
Then it was decided that it uses too much water to grow them.
So, watch out – the avocado may soon be rarer than chocolate fire protection and that means, we probably ought to get ours now.
So, in the spirit of this – I decided to test the OXO avocado slicer with my salads this weekend.
So Many Choices For Salads!
Avocado is a great addition to any salad it packs a real taste punch and can help spruce up more watery and tasteless leaves.
Don’t forget it is quite calorific, so you don’t want to go to town on the avocado every day but when you do – use one of these salad recipes from “Tasty”.
Which one is your favorite?
So, The OXO Avocado Slicer
First, let’s be clear. Nobody on earth needs an avocado slicer. People have been slicing avocados without them since they first started eating them.
However, it is a world more convenient and less risky to use this slicer than any alternative methods.
The OXO avocado slicer is cheap and reliable. But, end of the day, thoroughly unnecessary. And I’m not a big fan of the OXO brand.
I found it helped me make short work of my avocados and without putting my fingers in danger of being cut off.
I doubt it will get enough use for it ever to need replacing; so I put this down as a decent buy for somebody looking to treat themselves a little.
