We are happy to present our Scanpan reviews and guide as it’s one of our favorite brands for pans. Scanpan is a long-established Danish brand that has been making pan for years.
So, we thought we’d take a look at the Scanpan range and see how it performs and whether its reputation for quality is well-deserved. So, here are our scanpan reviews.
This is what we found.
All Scanpan pans are non-stick but there are 5 series of product that each has its own individual identity. Let’s just take a quick look at what they have in common and then their differences.
The 5 series are the Classic, the Professional, the IQ, the Pro IQ and the CTX.
What they have in common:
The Scanpan Classic range’s unique features are:
The Scanpan Professional range’s unique features are:
The Scanpan IQ range’s unique features are:
The Scanpan Pro IQ range’s unique features are:
The Scanpan CTX range’s unique features are:
What this means is that unless you specifically need a pan which does induction cooking (in which case you must choose from the 3 ranges that support induction cooking) you can choose from any range of Scanpan with confidence as the differences are purely cosmetic.
The big deal with all pans of this type is the nonstick coating. How long can you expect it to last?
Well, the truth is that nonstick coating will never last forever.
If you’re looking for a lifetime purchase, then you ought to be looking at cast iron options and dealing with the stickiness of the surface.
In our research we found that the Scanpan user community reports that they get 5-7 years from the nonstick coating in their pans.
This is very good, and the general consensus is that the coating lasts much longer than it would on cheaper pans which have a lifetime expectancy of 2-3 years at the most and only a year in the case of the cheapest models.
This explains some of the price difference between Scanpan and other less expensive pan brands and also demonstrates good value for money.
We’re glad you asked. We found that the Scanpan frying pans cooked very well, indeed, the aluminum surface fits snugly to any stove top and lends itself to even heat distribution which means that everything we cooked on them turned out perfectly.
We were really impressed by the performance of the Scanpan pans.
There’s no denying that Scanpan pans attract a premium price tag but we felt that this was well-justified.
The products are very high quality and they look and feel great in your kitchen and that’s important to us because we spend a lot of time in our kitchen.
They also last longer than most non-stick pans and they cook brilliantly.
