The Pioneer Woman Cooks Is Great For Families

Cookbooks, like fashion, come in and out of style and may not always be the perfect fit for every occasion. Rather than searching for one “perfect” cookbook, it’s beneficial to have a diverse collection to choose from in order to have a range of options to suit different needs and preferences. Having a variety of cookbooks allows you to be well-prepared for any cooking situation.

We have a large but selective cookbook collection here at Kitchen Authority. One cookbook that we crack open pretty regularly is Ree Drummond’s The Pioneer Woman Cooks. It was first published in 2009, and it has since become a New York Times Bestseller.

Pioneer Woman Cooks

The cookbook features a collection of comfort food recipes, along with personal stories and photographs from Ree’s life on a cattle ranch in Oklahoma.

It’s full of real, honest, and simple recipes for food that makes you feel good!

Some of the popular dishes from the cookbook include Cowboy Breakfast Skillet, Drummond Ranch Meatloaf, Fried Chicken, Blackberry Cobbler, and Lemon Bars

Ree Drummond’s a bit of a star and that means we can watch her work in the kitchen. I’ve chosen her whipping up some Macaroni and Cheese for the Ladies’ Home Journal.

It’s a wonderful recipe that we’ve eaten on several occasions at home. Check out the video here.

Try it for yourself, you’ll love it.

So, About The Book?

Amazon Reader, My Thoughts Only, says:

I’m a huge Pioneer Woman fan. I own all of her books. When I first started reading the reviews for this one, I was concerned as there was some harsh feedback. However, since I’ve started cooking out of this cookbook, I can definitely say, I LOVE this cookbook. Between work, family, friends and a million other things going on from day to day, time to cook can be limited. This book delivers on what is promised, fast, easy and tasty food for busy lives. Everything from crockpot dishes to sheet pan suppers has been great so far. I absolutely love the Turkey Meatloaves. What a big family hit! And while some of the recipes appear simple, they are no less tasty. For those concerned about more processed “shortcut” ingredients. Don’t be worried, these recipes are flexible, go ahead and use the from scratch version of those items. I’ve done that a few times myself and the recipes come out just as beautiful. Happy cooking and thank you Pioneer Woman!

I agree. This is a wonderful addition to my kitchen. It’s got that great “dip in and out” feel for busy days that every mother appreciates.

The Pioneer Woman Cooks is a great cookbook for home cooks who are looking for easy and delicious comfort food recipes. We like it!
